Preparation is the key to making sure a wedding is as easy and carefree for our brides and grooms on their special day as possible. This means emails, phone calls, text messages, conferences, and meetings through out the entire planning process to answer any questions that may come up and tighten any loose ends. What happens when certain circumstances don’t permit us to have the luxury of time to answer these questions?
On Saturday October 10, 2015 I had the honor of celebrating with Siobhan and Adam at The Dolce in Basking Ridge, NJ. From our very first appointment we developed some great chemistry talking and laughing but more importantly creating energy in sight of their wedding date that at the time of our first appointment was 11 months away. Unfortunately we had some obstacles put in front of us with in those months that wouldn’t allow time to communicate and go over what we needed. We were able to exchange emails a week prior as well as have a phone conversation in she told me “just wing it” and that she “trusts my judgment.”
Saturday morning I got to The Dolce early and set up for ceremony outside in their patio and the weather was absolutely beautiful as she walked down the aisle with her dad to meet her soon to be husband Adam.
The second they said their “I Do’s” there was a great atmosphere created at the venue. Friends and family were talking and enjoying each others company during cocktail hour and I could sense we were in for a great night. As a DJ this was my time to do a little research, since the bride and groom left the musical options to myself I wanted to see what type of crowd we had for the night. I walked through cocktail and seen it was a variety of all ages and started to develop a plan to execute during reception. A mixed crowd with all ages means you need to be versatile in all genres and also have the ability to transition through them all in a way that will keep that dance floor packed!
Upon their grand introduction as husband and wife, the room erupted and shortly after their first dance their guests flooded the dance floor to party. I looked up to see our bride and groom on the center of the dance floor with all of their friends surrounding them dancing and singing a long to the music. I knew at that point with them putting their undivided trust in me upon music, I was doing the right thing. Music is such a powerful tool and I’m reassured that every weekend!
I want to thank Siobhan and Adam on not only allowing Elite Sound Entertainment and myself be a part of their very special day but also by trusting me. They are an amazing couple and to see them giving me a round of applause at the end of the night makes me love what I do more and more!
